Which Intake is Better for Admission to UK Universities?

The United Kingdom grants 600,000 student visas yearly and accepts international students in two primary intakes: September (Fall Intake) and January (Winter Intake). A limited number of educational institutions also accept international students in May (Spring Intake). Every intake comes with some pros & cons, such as:
  • September (Fall Intake): This UK September intake will give over 90% of course choices from universities. Most universities have more scholarships and bursaries available. However, due to higher competition, many student applicants apply for the September intake, and available seats are filled rapidly.
  • January (Winter Intake): This UK January intake gets you additional time to prepare applications. In this secondary intake, there is typically less competition during this time as fewer applications are being submitted. But, the application deadlines are short, with only 30% of course choices available.
  • May (Spring Intake): It is the least preferred in intakes in UK. However, you get minimum competition, with more chances of admission approval. But, only a few universities accept students, with extremely limited course choices.
