Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Computer Science

The Bachelor of Science in Computer Science at Brock University provides students with a strong foundation in programming, data structures, operating systems, database systems, software engineering, and user interface design. Students can also explore advanced topics through specialized courses, such as object-oriented programming, computer graphics, computer networks, advanced Internet technologies, neural networks, parallel computing, compiler construction, and even computer music. The Computer Science Honours Co-op program allows students to gain practical work experience while completing their degree. The program offers two main concentrations. The Software Engineering concentration emphasizes programming, systems analysis, and application development skills, preparing students for careers in software design and development. The Intelligent Systems concentration focuses on creating computer systems capable of solving problems that typically require human intelligence, including artificial intelligence and machine learning. This combination of theory, practical skills, and hands-on experience ensures graduates are well-prepared for careers in technology, research, or further studies in advanced computing fields.
