The Bachelor of Teaching (Early Childhood Education) is an Initial Teacher Education (ITE) degree designed for those who want to become qualified early childhood education teachers in New Zealand. Approved by the Teaching Council of Aotearoa, New Zealand. This degree equips students with the skills needed for a career in teaching. Throughout the program, students will spend at least 12 hours per week in a licensed early childhood education setting, gaining valuable hands-on experience. In addition to weekly practical experience, students will complete block practicums in different settings. These include three weeks in year one, four weeks in year two, and four weeks in year three. By the end of the program, students will understand child development, how children learn, and how to build strong relationships with children and adults. They will also develop key leadership, planning, and organizational skills. Preparing them for effective roles in early childhood education and leadership positions.
