Bachelor of Social Work

The Bachelor of Social Work program is ideal for those passionate about social justice and empowering individuals, families, and communities. This four-year program combines theoretical learning with practical experience to prepare students for various social work roles. Students will learn to provide advice, advocate for groups, and promote social justice advocacy and human rights. They will learn to help communities realize their potential and function independently within society. Students will also develop the ability to work with diverse cultural, ethnic, and indigenous backgrounds while upholding ethical and professional standards. They will collaborate with other professionals in multidisciplinary teams and practice confidently in a bi-cultural context. Throughout the program, students will reflect critically on their practice through supervision and peer review. Gaining experience in healthcare, schools, and government organizations. The program offers flexible delivery with a mix of on-campus learning blocks in Hamilton and online study, providing students the chance to study at home while receiving guidance from qualified professionals. After completing the program, graduates will be prepared for provisional registration with the Social Workers Registration Board. Giving them access to a range of social work career opportunities.
