Required Documents for Study in Malaysia

Getting a Malaysian study visa requires applying for a visa either through the Education Malaysia Global Services (EMGS) website or sending a visa application to your university.   • A valid passport (with a validity of at least 12 months)
  • Two passport-size photographs with a white background. 
  • Duly signed and completed student visa application.
  • Universities offer letter (or) acceptance letters.
  • Previous academic transcripts.
  • Signed health declaration form
  • Personal bond with university (as per immigration law)
  • Medical screening certificate from any of the EMGS Panel Clinics.
  • English-Language proficiency test score certificate. 

Intakes in Malaysia for International Students

Malaysian universities have mainly two intakes in an academic year for international students. However, some selected also have a third intake for international students. Here are the Malaysia university intakes: 

  • The Autumn Intake (January Intake) is Malaysia's primary intake. In this intake, universities and colleges are open to taking students who have just completed high school. This intake opens in January/February.
  • The Spring Intake (September Intake) is Malaysia's second intake. In this intake, universities and colleges can take admission applications starting in September/November.
  • The Summer Intake (April Intake) is the third intake in Malaysia. This intake begins in April/May. However, only a few universities have a third intake in one academic year.
